Rex Goliath Free Range Red Review (Wines)

First wine of 2014.....

Picked this up at a local store looking for something new to try. I honestly don't have much knowledge on wines. I'm very interested to learn about them at this point in my life though.
As I started to sip this wine, The first thing I noticed about it is that it is very juicy as the label tastes. Though at first I felt that was a more wet feeling on my palate. It has a very deep color purple to the point of almost black.

I can't shake the after taste I get when I eat Greek olives. Its is an enjoyable after taste. This has a higher ABV then I'm used to these days. If it had a lower ABV then I may have found it a lot more enjoyable.

Notes: Grapey, Slight sweet, Olive tangy, Juicy,

Nestle Cafe Bonka Italian Dark Roast Review (Coffee)

Woody Espresso... woah.....

Picked this up at a local store for a really cheap price. When I first opened the package I was a bit disappointed. The aroma was kinda woody and boring.

I have been enjoying a old package of Ikea Espresso lately (I wont review it, as it has been in my fridge for some time now).

It ended up being the worst coffee I've had before. Woody and bitter in a bad way. Not worth even 20 cents. I cannot recommend this and mine went in the trash after a second try.

Notes: Bitter, Wood, Bitter disappointment.

Tatuaje Series P Toro Review (Cigars)

First Tatuaje of 2014....

I have had the Series P cigars before. When the line first came out I had tried all the sizes and I was mostly impressed. The Series P doesn't have the greatest construction. Though for the price the construction is right where it should be. I love the simple white band with red writing.

A couple of puffs had a bit of a bitterness to them. Not really an issue as I may have puffed too much. This had the classic Tatuaje meaty goodness to it. Its said to be made with the scraps from the Havana vi red line. I tend to believe that's a true statement.

Other than Cuban cigars Tatuaje are my favorite.

This sample was dry boxed for two days.

Notes: Charred leather, Meaty tobacco, Mellow Milk Chocolate, Slight black pepper

Quorum Classic Churchill Review (Cigars)

Just cause its budget doesn't mean its bad....

Part of head/wrapper cracked when I snipped it. Slobbered the crack and waited a few hours to see if it would stay put. It did and I still powered on. Had a snug draw but it still produced lots of smoke. Toothy wrapper. Decent construction for a budget stick, except for it having a thin wrapper.

Another one noter. Not complex but still semi enjoyable. Really revved up in strength near the end. I wouldn't recommend this cigar due to the thin wrapper. It may have just been the one I had though.

Notes: Classic tobacco, Slightly tangy earth, Very slight bitter cacao

Cuban Rejects Churchill Review (Cigars)

Went and visited the old Tinder Box I spent my youth in (Mesa, AZ).

Found out that the manager that I knew from a while back had retired. Was on the search for really cheap cigars and came across this one. Really nice construction for a mixed filler cigar. Also had a great draw. This had a bit of a kick to it in the background. For two dollars this was a decent cigar.

I would purchase these again. These are not bad for a one note cigar. Most of the cigars I smoked when I was younger were ones just like this one. For a brief minute I was reminded of all the times I spent in that Tinder Box. Puffing away for hours. Not a care in the world.

Notes: Classic tobacco taste, Earthy tobbacco, Earthy tang, Bitter burnt coffee, Bitter burnt chocolate

Isla Del Sol Toro by Drew Estate Review (Cigars)

My first infused cigar ever......

Bought this not knowing to was a infused cigar. Wasn't good and wasn't awful. I ended up hating the sweetened tip though. Burnt pretty straight. Bummed this was my first cigar after not having cigars for a long while. Won't buy again. Pretty decent aftertaste.

Notes: Harsh earthy tobacco, Sweetness from the tip, classic tobacco, sweet coffee syrup

Royal Nicaraguan Oscuro Maduro Torpedo Review (Cigars)

Back after a long cigar hiatus......

Picked this up at a local shop. Was excited as this was going to be my first cigar in almost a year, but I wasn't expecting much outta this thing. Had really decent construction for a under $3 cigar. Worst draw I've dealt with on a cigar before. Couldnt even make it to the first inch. Let down will not even accept one for free now.

Notes: Classic tobacco, earth

Alec Bradley Sun Grown Robusto Review (Cigars)

My first review in a while. Funny how a small amount of time can go by and change your whole life....

This is my first Alec Bradley cigar in many years. I also can't really remember the last one I had. The construction was impressive. The cold draw had a light sun grown tang to it mixed with a light black pepper. While smoking the smoke output was really wispy and light, the flavor doesn't linger all that much. Half way it got a little kick but never went full (stayed med almost mild most the way) Burn line was decent all the way through though. Nothing to write home about. Not bad though. I will have to try some more Alec Bradley cigars in the future.

Notes: Sun Grown Tangyness, Light Black Pepper, Deep Tobacco.

Jose L. Piedra Cremas Review (Cigars)

Another cheap Cuban

This cigar was ugly. It had an caramel colored wrapper that barely stayed together at times. The price is right though. I dry boxed it for two days (forgot about it). It started off mild/med and turned to a strong tobacco flavor with an med/full ending.

Notes: Mild Tobacco, Bitterness, Harshness, Hidden Vanilla, Slight Creaminess, Black Pepper, Savory Tobacco

Target's Archer Farms Fair Trade Organic Guatemalan Whole Bean Review (Coffee)

I liked this coffee

I have really enjoyed all the whole bean coffee's I've got from Target so far. As I said before though not the biggest fan of Target. This coffee is really not my favorite though. It's kinda more bold and a tad spicy more than I like coffee to be. If it was on sale I would get it again.

Notes: Floral at times, Chocolatey at times, Acidy at times, bold

Daily Smoke: Cromagnon Anthropology Review (Cigars)

Sadly after lighting this cigar, I recently found out that these are all gone except for a few shops around Dallas,TX

It's gotta be said that this is my "soul" cigar. Sure there's a couple Tatuaje's that I like a little more though. This cigar though is always amazing in my opinion. I really like dry boxing these at least 24 hours. If you have a chance to buy these then you should or at least try one of them!

I cant wait till these cigars come back in August...

Notes: Burnt Espresso, Coco Powder, Meaty, Coffee Bean, Syrupy Chocolate, Pepper on the Throat, Fudge Pop

Ended With: Charred Meat

La Tradicion Cubana's Jose M Losa 1902 Torpedo Review (Cigars)

Damn this was a great cigar. I smoked it after a couple cups of coffee and had nothing while smoking it.

Construction was top notch. Wrapper was beautiful. It's an very strong cigar. It's blend is amazing though. I hate when really strong cigars don't have good blends. This has been my favorite cigar of the year so far. It's pretty syrupy with a thickness on the throat. I would drink something next time I have one. I recommend this cigar if you like Dominican cigars or strong cigars in general. I was impressed.

Notes: Spice, Caramel, Bold Coffee, Bitterness, Black Pepper, Red Pepper,  Syrupy Chocolate, Molasses, Chocolate Fudge Pop

Coronado By La Flor Toro Review (Cigars)

I loved this cigar

With that being said, I hadn't had one in many years. So I thought this weekend I would give one a shot again. Construction was great. Draw was great, The wrapper reminded me of an old leather bag.

Notes: Wood, Spice, Leather, Slight bitterness, Red Chilli Pepper, Cream

Arturo Fuente Curly Head Natural Review (Cigars)

Budget cigar review.

Having smoked quite few Curly Head Maduro's in my time, I thought I would try the Natural tonight. Construction was good for a 3 dollar cigar. Draw was perfect and smoke output was really good. At the half way point the tar started to build up at the tip so I ended it with two inches left.

Notes: Cedary Woodyness, Bitterness, Creamy, Nuttyness

El Titan De Bronze Redemption Maduro Toro Review (Cigars)

I have been waiting a while to try this cigar.

When I finally did I was a little disappointed. This cigar was GOOD and almost great. The first thing I noticed was the wrapper was pretty damn ugly. The caps held on every well but they were also ugly. It had a nice change at the half way point. The flavors mixed together and the cigar got alot stronger. Taste's like alot of cigars that are on the market.

Notes: Bitterness, Cedar, Woodyness, Slight Cream, Coco, Spicy Chocolate
